Great Lakes Grading provides road management solutions – specializing in gravel roads and driveways. Their service includes road grading, scarifying potholes, aggregate delivery, compaction and dust control. They needed a logo for their business, as well as social media ads, motion graphics, and branded merchandise.
I held a discovery call with the owner of Great Lakes Grading, who shared his vision for the logo. He wanted to include illustrations that represented both his services and the state of Michigan, and he was open to a more detailed design to emphasize the hard work behind his grading operations. I began sketching various pieces of equipment the company uses, ultimately landing on an illustration of a bulldozer set against the outline of our great state.
